Definitions

Body Shapers	Term used to describe sheer hosiery providing more support and control in the panty and thigh portion of the garment.
Business Sheer	Moderately sheer pantyhose designed for durability and comfort. Ideal for everyday wear.
Control Top	Pantyhose with spandex for soft girdle or "control" effect and provide a slimmer silhouette.
Denier	Denier is the weight-per-unit-length of the yarn. The lower the denier, the lighter and finer the yarn, and the sheerer the garment. Hosiery knit of higher denier yarns tend to be more durable.
Firm Support	Support pantyhose that give more support because heavier weights of spandex and nylon are used. Firm support hosiery give a massage-lite fit that can reduce fatigue in the legs.
Girdle Top	Pantyhose with a sewn-on girdle, for the firmest possible tummy control.
Light Support	Pantyhose made with a low denier spandex in the leg (usually 40 denier or lower spandex) to give light compression or "control" effect.
Mesh	An open knit used primarily to achieve a hand-knit, textured look.
Mesh Knit	A hosiery fabric produced in a variety of tiny patterns. Upon close inspection it looks like lots of fine zig-zag lines.
Nude Heel	Pantyhose or stocking without reinforcement in the heel area. Hosiery with nude heals are ideal for open-heeled or sling-back sandals or shoes.
Opaque	Stockings or pantyhose made of yarn which give them heavier appearance, usually 40 denier or greater in weight. It is heavier and more durable than sheers.
Reinforced	Areas that are strengthened with yarns of heavier denier to prevent runs, generally the toe or panty area of the pantyhose.
Sandalfoot	Hosiery with sandalfoot is ideal for open toed shoes or sandals.
Sheer-To-The-Waist	Pantyhose without visible panty line or reinforcement in the panty portion.
Shock-Up	Pantyhose designed and made to visibly shape and sculpt the hips, thighs, tummy, and to enhance and support a woman's natural curves. Ideal for women looking for that perfect figure feel and look.
Ultra Sheer	A fine denier fiber that provides the ultimate sheerness feel and look. It is usually 20 denier or less and a low filament count.
