By increasing the blood circulation around your wrists, applying pressure to induce nerve sensory function and stabilize your wrist and thumb to facilitate you to move your hands more easily, this particular wrist/thumb support is helpful for those who has problems with their wrists and thumbs. This particular wrist support can be used as an aid for those with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) and for those who feel stress as a result of typing too much from the computer. What Is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome(CTS)? The carpal consists of a concavity which are formed by three sides of bones as well as a ligament at the bottom. There are nerves, veins, tendon and etc across the concavity. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome means that the nerve is pressed by the surrounding tissues of the carpal which result in the midmost nerve being impacted thereby causing a so-called CTS Symptom. If you feel like you have pain surrounding the group of eight bones forming the joint between the forearm and the hand, also called wrist, then you may have some problems with your Carpus. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Symptoms: Early Date Symptoms - You will feel uncomfortable and painful at the wrist and even wake up at night because of these aches. Latter Date Symptoms - 1) The symptoms of pain happens more frequent and lasts longer; and 2) You feel your muscle atrophy or deteriorating thereby weakening your hand's overall strength. Suggestions: 1) Do not do too much sports and work your wrist too hard whether by typing or writing; 2) Do wear wrist support so as to make sure the wrist is at least not deteriorating; 3) Pay attention to the elasticity of wrist support to make sure the elasticity is suitable to provide regular blood circulation; 4) Do not use too much force on the wrist when applying pressure; and 5) Should go to a doctor if you do not feel the nerve around the wrist or if you feel the motor nerve weakening.
